Mood:  excited! *bounce bounce bounce*

Yay! We are finally going to Escape Theme Park! Haha. After the botched attempt on BB’s birthday (they don’t open on weekdays), we finally get to go today! Haha. I’m now at BB’s place at Pasir Ris, waiting for him to finish work at 12 noon. Haha!

Okay, since I’m in a good mood, I shall blog a little.

Last Saturday,we had an shopping-and-makan outing to JB! By ‘we’, I mean Me & BB, Lis & Xun, and Xiangying & Junior and Jonathan (Junior’s godbrother). Woo hoo. I was super excited that I couldn’t really sleep the previous night. Ha ha ha. Left home pretty early, so I had to wait for them for a while at the JB immigrations. The queue was very loooong.

So I stood there, amongst the crowd, reading my book, Jodi Picoult’s Nineteen Minutes. I tell you, the book is absolutely chilling. What made it so scary was that it put into perspective the emotions and the chaos at the Columbine and Virginia Tech shootings. What we have read in the news likely made us feel sorry for the victims and their family, but probably not much else. This book made me feel like crying while standing in a crowded place. That’s how ‘good’ it was.

Anyway! After about 30 minutes, all of them were out already, and we proceeded to get cabs to Aeon Tebrau City! Yay! Haha.

We first walked around a little, and then headed to this place called Vivo Cafe for lunch. The food isn’t good at all, so please skip that place if you’re even considering it! Haha! Some of the food we had:

After that, we went to Plaza Pelangi! Haha. Shopped some more while we were there. Actually both my buys were from Plaza Pelangi. I forgot until I started typing about this part. So nevermind. Hur hur.

After the seafood feast, they headed back to Singapore, while I took a long and lonely bus ride back to Bukit Indah!

Okay! Moving on! The next day, I had to wake up at 4:45am to go to Singapore  Zoo for work. Yes, you read that right. It was for the May Day 2007 event at the Zoo, and Singtel set up a booth there to sell Hi-Cards and handphones.

Work at the Zoo was horrible. Inexperienced staff, horrible weather (sunny, alternated with rainy weather) and horrible location and hours (we started at 8am). There aren’t any eateries within 5 minutes walking distance. Horrible! Was glad when we finally wrapped.

Daddy came for a couple of nights, on Wednesday, en route to USA. He’s going for a conference. Dunno if he’s landed yet. But I think not. The journey had to be broken up because it was so long! Here’s an outline of his travel itinerary:

Surabaya to Singapore (stop over for 2 nights)
Singapore to Los Angeles
Los Angeles to Chicago
Chicago to Kentucky

On his way back to Surabaya, unfortunately, he has to fly the same route, but with no break in Singapore. He’ll be on transit for 4 hours at Changi, and then fly straight back to Surabaya.

While Daddy was home, we went out for dinner at this restaurant nearby. Food was okay, but nothing spectacular.

Last night, at BB’s place, I took photos with the neighbour’s cat, who strayed into our house! Haha! She’s super fat and furry and grumpy looking. I love her! Her body also very soft, and she lets you carry her and she doesn’t scratch. Woo hoo!

I think she looks like Piggy’s long-lost furry relative! Haha!

Working at SingTel Wireless booth at NUS Engineering Faculty Bazaar (outside LT6) for these 3 days (Mon to Wed), so if anyone is in the area, drop by to say Hi ok!

My partner this time was Xiaoli (younger sister of my my ex-roomie, Yali) and we just have so much to talk about. Haha! We don’t hang out often, but we know so much about each other, from our common links: Yali, and our Mommies. Haha.

We love the same stuff – the same type of books, same type of music, same type of vacations. And best of all, she’s my PJC junior! Hehehe. Links work. For me, at least

Tiring day. Though we finished our job pretty quickly, and then were slacking throughout the remaining of the day (effectively we only were busy for 2.5 hours), but still I’m tired.

And I’m working on the dratted HRM project now. This sucks. Okay, enough diversions…

Today was my stay-home-do-project day (I really can’t wait to be done with this dreary project), but I managed to accomplish very little. I simply can’t work in the day time! I’m more active at night, and think better at night.

So now I’m going to work earnestly, and complete what I have to!

But first: blog. Haha!

Actually, I’ve got nothing much to blog about @.@ Haha. Yesterday I met up with Huey at NTU Canteen A. And over the weekend, BB and I worked together for the first time! It was the Heeren Roadshow.

About work: It was a bit weird. I don’t really know what to call him now, when we are at work. Haha. I can’t call him “BB”, can I? And it’s so weird saying, Chaoyi or Adam. So I just… “Eh.” Haha. When I’m with friends, I just call him “BB”, but I can’t do that at work! So I need to learn how to address him properly in public. Hehe.

About my temper: Hmm. I know I have a bad temper. But each time I lose my temper, especially with BB, I feel so lousy afterwards I must really control myself.

About my forgetfulness and absentmindedness: Yesterday I left my HP at BB’s place. Only after I’d gotten onto the bus did I realise that my HP was not with me. So I turned back to get it. I borrowed a HP from a stranger at the bus stop, and asked BB to turn back too (he’d left his room already), and was a tad impatient when I called him. I really really need to improve on my patience and temper. After I got my HP (and my charger, which I also left behind), I walked to the bus stop, only to realise that I forgot my ATM card *sigh* So I turned back again, luckily I was only at the bus stop. I need to stop being so forgetful.

Sorry BB. I will be better!

It’s my second day here at Nanyang Polytechnic’s Open House, and sad to say, I feel like I’m rotting my life away. Still, I wanna proclaim to all that I love SingTel! Haha. I think I will make it my mission to get full-time employment in SingTel once I graduate. Maybe not immediately, but some day. There’s got to be some credit given to me for being so loyal, right? And I’m only a part-time staff now. I love the SingTel culture idea of working for such a powerful huge organization.

I think I would be really proud to wear the SingTel staff pass on my lanyard. And although not all the products and services of SingTel catches my fancy (some I even find rather stupid), but still, I respect them for the other good products/services they come up with.

Okay, that’s quite a lot to say about, ehm, SingTel.

Well, working here has been kinda boring, but I’m not complaining that much cos this place is really nice. At least it’s airy! Working at Ngee Ann Polytechnic last week was quite hellish on my sinus-ridden nose, because it was so stuffy, and the air just wasn’t well-circulated (read: dust stays in the same area, and there is a lack of oxygen) so I kept sneezing and sneezing, and feeling faint and suffocated periodically.

Right now, I’m reading Jeffrey Deaver’s Garden of Beasts, and I like what I’m reading so far. The story is about a German-American mob hitman, who was picked up by American local intelligence, and sent to Germany on a mission to kill an arms advisor to Hitler (this is Berlin in 1936). What he gets in return is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to clean his record, walk free and legal, and lots of money to start a business that he wants to.

After reading so many romance novels recently, I find that they are all pretty much the same mush, and I’m kinda sick of that at the moment. Even Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook and The Wedding last weekend didn’t make me a happy page flipper. And Nicholas Sparks is probably one of my favourite romance novelists of all time.

Now, it is thrillers which sees me with my nose in books, reading quickly, yet wanting to absorb all the words and portraying in my mind what the scenes must look like, or what the protagonists must feel.

I’m just blogging because I am bored. Can you tell?

Can’t wait to go home this evening and have dinner with BB, while watching a movie on his desktop with the hugeass LCD monitor. Heh.

I feel so tired. Seriously, my eyes are stinging due to the lack of sleep that I had over the last few days. Wednesday I went to school early in the morning (after a mere 3 hours of sleep due to studying)expecting a full day of classes, but I was mistaken about my class schedule. Classes were held only in the afternoon! Wah, I wanted to slap myself then.

On Thursday, I went to work at Ngee Ann Poly Open House, at the SingTel Wireless@SG booth. After work, we went to IKEA. Had meatballs! Haha. Actually we went to IKEA only to eat the meatballs. But BB ended up buying some drinking glasses, and a rubbish basket. BB also went to collect his lenses for his Rudy Project cycling sunglasses, and we went to meet this guy whom BB gaffered camera lens for. Forgot to write also, that BB has sold his Nikon D70 DSLR camera. Then on Saturday, he went and bought a digital camera: The Panasonic LX2, which is like damn fantastic cos I see already I also want to buy! Haha!

On Friday evening, BB and I cooked pasta (fusili with beef and mushroom bolognaise sauce) and we watched Blood Diamond! Gruesome movie, but I thought it was pretty good for the plot and story. Remember girls, it’s up to us to insist that the diamonds we purchase are conflict-free! Hehe.

Worked till Saturday, and nearly died after that. The NP Open House was terrible – loud music blaring from the speakers which were very near our booths, and suffocating atmosphere made worse by the throngs of people that never seemed to leave the Atrium. Oh yeah, managed to catch up with Huey a bit, though. She was at NP too, and we went back to Boon Lay together

On Sunday, my Study Day, I managed to do more movie-watching than actual studying (sadly). We watched Unknown over lunch of pasta (yes, again) and Flyboys over dinner of rice and some dishes (and fried guo tie). I liked both shows too! Haha. I think I was very agreeable with movies this weekend because of the company that I had I really enjoyed myself watching those movies, and they all made me think alot.

Anyway. I did manage to squeeze in a bit of studying over the few days by bringing some notes to the Open House where I worked, and by studying some on Sunday, *ahem* while also reading Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook and The Wedding *ahem* Haha.

But I must defend myself and say that the test went pretty well despite the distractions. After the test, we had lunch (I ate alone cos everyone else left the exam venue early, and had lunch by themselves – I was the last to leave, I think – and some left as early as 45 mins into the 2hour paper! Gosh!) and then I had another 3 hour lecture, which was kinda siannifying. I was trying so hard to stay awake, and when the lecturer concluded the class, I practically bounded out of class at lightning speed!

Hmm. You know what?! I’m so so so so tired! Last night we all slept really late, and I woke up this morning at 5:30am to study!  Gosh. Terrible thing to do, cos all I wanted to do was to crawl back into bed and snore my way to 10am. Haha.

Yawns. It’s time for bed. 10pm! I like my bed.

New semester tomorrow, new beginning. I will be a full-time student again – Happy, yet sad. Can’t wait to graduate! Haha.

I’ve been ‘missing in action’ for the last 1 week – haven’t really done much. Spent the New Year with BB, and then slacked around at home, trying to get used to staying at home with my Mom again. Last week, though, I went to work for SingTel for 4 days (from Thursday to Sunday) at Funan Digital Mall.

It was a terribly boring 4 days! It was actually a Lenovo roadshow, but SingTel had a booth there to promote Wireless@SG. The roadshow wasn’t exactly a success – I don’t think they made enough to even cover the costs incurred for the roadshow. There seemed to be more Lenovo promoters than customers, at any one point in time. Needless to say, our promoting the Wireless service wasn’t that big a success either.

I’m thankful for having had the roadshow, though. It means that I’ve got extra money! Hmm, I’ll need to try to save up abit of money, though. No matter how little. Another thing I’m thankful for was the opportunity I had to spend time with BB, though we had some run-ins. But that’s all sorted out now, somehow.

Originally I wanted to blog about my school, and their inefficiency, but I’m too lazy now. Shall save that story for another day. *yawns*

I seem so sleepy these days. Haha! I should sleep more tonight. When school starts, everyone is sleep deprived – me included!

BB started school yesterday, and he blogged all about it. So happy to see him so enthusiastic about school nowadays. A total change from the Chaoyi that I first knew!

That guy was unmotivated, hated school, and never attended classes.

My BB now is motivated, enthusiastic about lessons, and always attends classes.

And he got AA BBBB for his exams last semester! Haha. I’m happy. I’ll also get great grades, and we will be smart people, and we will talk about smart things at dinner, and the people around us will be overwhelmed by the smart aura surrounding us, and they will all be smart too! Yay!

Okay, maybe it’s time to go and pack my schoolbag (Yay! New schoolbag from HK!) and stop talking rubbish. Hehehe!

This morning I sauntered into my office building slowly and carelessly, despite being late. I didn’t really care that much anymore. 30 minutes late on a bleeding Saturday morning is acceptable. Well, I’d allow it if I had my own company.

Anyway, the Security Guard at our building, known to everyone as Uncle was standing at the entrance, watching yet another company move away from the building.

Uncle has a naturally grumpy face. He isn’t really grumpy – his face just looks like that. Well, with his toothless grin and cheerful ways, he’s quite popular amongst those of us working at this building. We’ll go: “Hello Uncle! Good morning!” or “Uncle, makan already?” or “Bye Uncle! Go home early ok!” or “Uncle I’m going to Cheers, you want what drink?” etc.

And now everyone is moving out. The rent here is exorbitantly high, and the companies occupying the office spaces here are all SMEs. Naturally, they would look for other premises to run their business from, once the management raised the prices – in this case, CDL. Anyway, this morning I found Uncle standing there, looking truly grumpy. His eyes didn’t smile anymore. I said quietly, “Hello, Uncle.” And he said to me: “Everyone going. Later left me alone.”

I just smiled, not knowing what to say.

My company will be moving away next month too. I won’t be here though. I will be in wonderful Beijing!

Wanted to blog everything that’s been happening to me, but it’s 0042 hours, my eyelids are drooping, and I think I should get more rest. So does it count as a blog entry if I stop here?

Okay, maybe not.

Hmm. I’ve been doing nothing with my life. Some at-least-got-abit-of-meaning-activities:

Last Saturday afternoon I studied with Peiyu at JEC.
On Sunday I worked all day at Golden Mile Complex for SingTel HOT$100 prepaid card roadshow.
On Tuesday I met up with LCW and Michelle from Titan for dinner at Menotti, Raffles City!
On Thursday I met up with Lis and I accompanied her to shop and cut hair at CityHall!

Erm, then bla bla bla. Today I also tendered my resignation bla bla bla.

Haha. I’m going to be a full time student again. That’s what the mystery in my previous entry was. This is a new phase for me.  I am going to be depending on my parents once again. That’s abit hard to stomach, seeing that I’ve not relied on them for quite some time now.

It’s just my ego, I know.

Anyway, after I tendered my resignation, I got a pretty good job offer from DBS. O.o Yes it’s true. Talk about coincidences. And they upped the pay that they offered me initially (last week), but because I rejected the offer, they thought that it’s the salary. But it’s not. It’s the job function that is not desirable to me. Then they increased the pay, and it got me abit interested. Let’s just say they are offering me a graduate’s pay, when I’m merely an A Levels student, with abit of incomplete university education. Haha.

I’ve not rejected it – the hiring manager wants me to sign on the dotted line, on the 4th of December. But I think I will, soon. It’s not what I want, and it will not add value to my resume, for my future HR jobs. So obviously you know that it is not a job in the HR department.

So this is what’s happening in the near future, not necessarily in the order that it will happen:

1. I’m moving home to JB to live with my Mommy
2. I will be a full time student again
3. I will serve 1 week’s notice at current company – till next Wednesday
4. Starting Thursday (30 Nov) I will work at SITEX for SingTel, till Sunday (3 Dec).
5. BB is leaving for Beijing on Saturday, 2 Dec!
6. I will leave for Beijing on Thursday, 7 Dec!

OK! I think I really blogged properly afterall!

Now I need to mentally and physically prepare myself for 4 whole gruelling days at SITEX, taking place in the very deepest abysses of hell, where Singaporeans fight over IT goods, join 100-metre long queues to sign up for SingTel / SingNet services, and act as if everything there is free.

A strange woman came into the office this morning to pass a cheque to my boss. Then she asked me to sign on a form to indicate that I have received it, and also wanted a photocopy of my passport and identification card.

I refused. I called my boss and told him that I don’t want to sign for this kind of thing, and give my IC. God only knows who she is, and who knows what she may use my IC for?

Strange woman.

Why is everyone so suspicious of others in this cutthroat society field today?
